1 lb pork belly slices
1/4 cup orange marmalade
1/2 cup unsalted chicken stock (or broth)
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
1 cup Deli coleslaw
8 Deli Hawaiian dinner rolls


  1. Preheat large, nonstick sauté pan on medium 2–3 minutes. Add pork to pan; cook 7–8 minutes, turning often, or until brown and crispy. Drain fat from pan.
  2. Reduce heat to low. Stir in marmalade, stock, salt, and five-spice powder; simmer 7–8 minutes or until sticky and pork is 145°F and well coated. Place pork on bottom-halves of rolls; top with coleslaw and top-halves of buns.

Other Preparation Methods

  • Fry: Preheat large sauté pan on medium-high. Place 1/4 cup oil in pan; brush 1 lb pork belly with 1/4 cup corn syrup, then dredge in flour. Add pork to pan; cook 2–3 minutes on each side or until crisp, golden, and 145°F. Sprinkle pork with 1 teaspoon Sazón seasoning.
  • Sauté: Preheat large sauté pan on medium 2–3 minutes; cut 1 lb pork belly into thin strips. Place in pan; cook 6–8 minutes or until crisp, then drain fat. Stir in 1/8 teaspoon cayenne, 2 tablespoons honey, and 1/2 teaspoon salt; cook and stir 2 more minutes or until sticky and pork is 145°F.
