Sparkling Pinot Punch with Pomegranate Seed Ice Cubes

1 (4.3-oz) container pomegranate arils (or 1 pomegranate)
2 cups pomegranate (or cranberry-pomegranate) juice, chilled
1 1/2 cups pinot noir (or other dry red wine), chilled
1 cup spiced apple cider
1/2 cup Deli lemonade
1 (750-ml) bottle Champagne (or sparkling wine), chilled
1 lemon, thinly sliced


  1. Divide pomegranate arils among 2 ice cube trays; fill cubes almost full with water. Freeze until solid (about 3 hours). Chill remaining ingredients.
  2. Combine in punch bowl: pomegranate juice, wine, cider, and lemonade until blended.
  3. Add champagne (just before serving), but do not stir. Add pomegranate ice cubes and lemon slices. Serve immediately.
