5–6 radishes (optional), thinly sliced
1/3 cup sliced banana peppers (or pepperoncini), finely chopped
1 bunch cilantro, coarsely chopped
1 lime, for juice
2 tablespoons canola oil
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup presliced green onions
6 cups shredded cabbage


  1. Slice radishes, if using (1/2 cup); chop banana peppers. Pick cilantro leaves from stems, then chop (1 cup). Squeeze lime for juice (2 tablespoons). Whisk lime juice, oil, salt, pepper, and peppers until blended.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients just before serving.
