3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (+ additional for dusting)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
4 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup water
5 tablespoons butter, divided
2 tablespoons coconut oil
Cooking spray


  1. Place in bowl of stand mixer: flour, sugar, yeast, and salt; whisk to combine using hook attachment. Add warmed milk, water, 2 tablespoons butter, and oil; mix on low speed 5 minutes. Transfer dough to a lightly floured work surface; cut into 10 equal pieces, then roll each piece into a ball. Let dough balls stand 10 minutes to rest.
  2. Melt remaining 3 tablespoons butter. Roll each dough ball out to a 1 1/4-inch-thick by 7-inch diameter disc, then brush each with butter. Fold each disc in half, then brush with butter. Coat baking sheet with spray. Place dough on baking sheet; let stand 10 minutes to rest. Preheat oven to 350°F
  3. Bake rolls 15–20 minutes or until lightly browned. Brush with butter; serve hot.
