Cheddar-Garlic Drop Biscuits

Nonstick aluminum foil
2 cups self-rising flour
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
2 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder with parsley, divided
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and divided
1 (6-oz) Publix Deli Hoop Cheddar Cheese wedge, shredded


  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line baking sheet with foil. Combine flour, salt, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, buttermilk, 1/2 cup butter, and cheese.
  2. Scoop biscuit mixture by 1/4 cup onto baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake 10–12 minutes or until golden. Combine remaining 2 tablespoons butter and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and brush biscuit tops with mixture. Let stand 5 minutes to cool.

Other Preparation Methods

  • Pasta: Combine 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, 15 oz Alfredo sauce, and 4 cups cooked elbow pasta for a creamy mac & cheese.
  • Dessert: Warm a slice of Bakery apple pie, then place 2 slices of cheddar cheese on top for a savory-sweet treat.
