For nearly two years, Noel Basso has overseen winemaking at Oak Ridge Winery with this year marking his 17th harvest. Having spent most of his winemaking career working for reputable corporate high-volume wineries, Noel is excited to have a more hands on approach at a family owned operation where he can apply his understanding of crafting quality wine from superior grape growing.
Noel’s versatility in the vineyards and cellar has not only brought him domestic, but international success as well. Over his 16-year tenure, his track record speaks for itself being recognized nationally for his accomplishments and accolades vintage to vintage.
His passion for wine can be traced back to his days at CSU Fresno where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Nutrition with an emphasis on Wine Production. When not at the winery, you can catch him in the great outdoors where he is an enthusiast of stand-up paddle boarding and kayaking in the Monterey Bay. He even likes kicking up some dirt on a nice bike ride in Lodi Wine Country.
