Georgia-born French-trained Chef Virginia Willis has made chocolate chip cookies with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, foraged for berries in the Alaskan wilderness, harvested capers in the shadow of a smoldering volcano in Sicily, and beguiled celebrities such as Jane Fonda, Morgan Freeman, and Aretha Franklin with her cooking -- but it all started in her grandmother’s country kitchen. French-trained, born and raised in Georgia, Willis is one of the most respected names in the region’s cuisine and culture. In her new book, she features 80 crave-worthy recipes, stunning full-page photography, and journalistic profiles of local farmers, chefs and makers, chronicling the region’s exciting and evolving culinary scene.
Come try just some of the many wonderful recipes that she has published in her newest cookbook Secrets of the Southern Table - A Food Lover's Tour of the Global South. Chef Willis will show us how easy, and delicious it can be using fresh ingredients, such as organicgirl© products, to prepare a great meal. At our Aprons Cooking School, you will share great food and conversation with a chef and James Beard Award-winning cookbook author.
