Weeknight Pasta Dinner

Weeknight Pasta Dinner

1 loaf Bakery French bread
1/4 cup Bakery garlic spread
1 tablespoon canola oil
12 fresh beef Italian meatballs (about 1 lb)
1 (18-oz) container refrigerated Italian pasta sauce
1 cup water
1 (10-oz) Caesar salad kit
1 (9-oz) package fresh linguine pasta
2 oz Deli Parmesan cheese, grated


  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut bread in half (reserve one-half for later use); slice remaining bread in half, lengthwise, and place on foil-lined baking sheet. Spread garlic mixture evenly over each half.
  2. Preheat large, nonstick sauté pan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Place oil in pan, then add meatballs and cover; cook 6–8 minutes or until browned on all sides. Cut pasta in half and grate cheese.
  3. Place bread in oven; bake 8–10 minutes or until golden and crisp. Reduce heat on meatballs to medium-low and stir sauce and water into meatballs, then cover; simmer 4–5 minutes or until meatballs are 160°F. Assemble salad kit.
  4. Move meatballs to outer edge of pan. Stir pasta into sauce and cover; cook 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until pasta is tender. Sprinkle with cheese. Serve.
